Open Source elections: Can technology solve voting mishaps?
Many observers have suggested that the only means of guaranteeing that votes are fairly tabulated is to develop a system based on an auditable, Open Source software platform.
Weaseling a good idea
The recent announcement of the KDE League is a good thing. It would be even better if the KDE people hadn't lied about it months ago. Work had been underway on the KDE League, but the earthshaking announcement was to be saved for Comdex, even if it meant deliberately misleading the existing user base in the interim. So much for the open community.

Free source project management
Project management and engineering is a largely neglected aspect of free source development. Monty R. Manley addressed this issue in a recent article, but I have reservations about his particular recommendations. Nevertheless, it's an issue we need to tackle.
Germany leads in open source development

This tutorial is designed for beginners only. This tutorial explains the
basics of shell programming by showing some examples of shell programs. A
manual may contain all the necessary information, but it won't have many
examples which are required to put the point across with greater clarity.
